Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Glenfiddich Fire & Cane
Experimental Series Number 04
Marrying peated whisky and malts matured in bourbon barrels, and then finishing in Latin rum casks, Glenfiddich created an fantastic whisky that represents the explorative spirit of their company.
It all starts with fire.
From the char on the bourbon barrels, to the burn that creates beautiful billowing clouds of peat smoke, it all starts with one element: fire. Highland peat campfire smoke, and notes of oak, are carried throughout the entirety of this whisky. Beautifully balanced and ever evolving, like fire, this is an excellent addition to the Glenfiddich Experimental line!
Peat & Campfire Smoke.
Highland peat is created over hundreds of years and provides an incredible complexity to any whisky, but add it to a malt that has been perfected for almost as long, and the results are pretty extraordinary. From nose through finish, Glenfiddich Fire & Cane caries a beautiful peated campfire smoke that really shines in this whisky!
Laced in cane sugar.
The bourbon barrel and rum cask leave a beautiful combination of cane sugar and toffee sweetness. Perfectly balanced with this whiskies campfire smoky side. This sweetness helps enhance several other flavors in this whisky like fresh fruit, candy, and cocoa.
A textural mouth feel.
This whisky is full of texture and interlaced with a fantastic peated smoke. The longer it opens up, the more you start to discover subtle flavors. Complex and full of body with a lingering finish, this Glenfiddich Fire & Cane is a unique experience for sure!
Every flavor revealed.
Complex and ever evolving, I get so many great flavors from this whisky. Beautiful cocoa, backing spices, honey, toasted marshmallow, green fruit, toffee, etc. The sweet is balanced by smoke and a beautiful malt. Over all a fantastic whisky that always seems to have something new to discover.
A memory in a glass.
Memories of warm sun during late spring, long summer nights next to a roaring campfire, and cool mornings waking up to foggy mountains. A few of the memories that this whisky brings back for me. This final image is a little different from the rest, but hopefully evokes a different memory for each person who views it. Sunrise or sunset?
